چکیده

Background: T. cruzi biotherapies’ alter the infection course by this protozoan [1,2], fact that encourages evaluation of other highly diluted medicines which modulates host’s immune system. Aim: Evaluate effect biotherapy produced from mices’s serum in experimental cruzi. Methodology: A blind, randomized and controlled study was performed. Animals: 60 male Swiss mice, four weeks old were inoculated intraperitoneally with 1400 trypomastigotes-Y strain divided: MNI: mice non-infected cruzi; IC: treated hydroalcoholic solution 7%; BSI13cH: mice’s infected 13cH. Biotherapies: 13cH dynamization [3]. Treatment: 48 hours before after infection. Subsequently animals 56/56 until 9th day (d.i). The medicine water (1/100mL) offered ad libitum, for 16 hours. Parasitological parameters: evaluated pre-patent patent period, parasitemia peak, total mortality [4]. Cytokine dosage: IL-4, IL-17, TNF-α IFN-γ measured on 0, 8th 12th d.i., enzyme immunoassay. Ethics: approved Ethics Committee Experiments Animals/UEM. Statistic: data compared Mann Whitney or Student t test, significance 5%. Results: BSI13cH showed tendency to increase (p=0.06) peak (p=0.05), lower period (p=0.03) higher IC. In dosage cytokines group 0 d.i. a decrease IL-17 (p = 0.02) increased IL-4 0.01) MNI (baseline value), probably caused modulation medication administration concentration didn’t vary throughout BSI13cH, different IC tended cytokine significantly subsequent return baseline values. change value along 0.00) than IC, di. followed same evolution as an (Figure 1). seems initially promote Th2 response (IL-4), hindering development effective Th1 (INF-γ), causing animals' death. Conclusions: demonstrated parasitemia, animals’ premature death modulated differently

Canova medication modifies parasitological parameters in mice infected with Trypanosoma cruzi.

The goals of this study were to evaluate the effect of the Canova medication, a homeopathic immune-system modulator, on the evolution of infection induced by the Trypanosoma cruzi Y strain in mice. The animals were divided into five groups: (i) untreated infected controls (I), (ii) infected animals treated with benznidazole (Bz), (iii) infected animals treated with the Canova medication (CM), (...

[Parasitological and epidemiological aspects of Trypanosoma cruzi seropositive blood donors].

BACKGROUND After the interruption of the transmission of Chagas disease via vector insects in Chile, there is little available epidemiological information about this parasitosis in blood banks. AIM To update the rates of T cruzi positive blood donors. To measure parasitological and epidemiological parameters in blood donors with anti T cruzi antibodies. MATERIAL AND METHODS An ELISA-T cruzi...

Clinical, parasitological and immunological aspects of experimental infection with Trypanosoma evansi in dogs.

This research investigated the pattern of antibody response by means of enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (Elisa) and indirect fluorescent antibody test (IFAT) through the course of experimental Trypanosoma evansi infection in dogs. Clinical and parasitological features were also studied. The average prepatent period was 11.2 days and parasitaemia showed an undulating course. Biometrical study ...
